MANAGING RESOURCES

  • Select materials and sensory resources the students have shown preferences for in the Happiness Audit
  • Continue to provide new sensory experiences in a planned and structured way
  • Embed a sensory approach in all of your teaching and learning 
  • Make sure your resources are accessible and organised e.g. visual resources, auditory resources etc
  • Develop a bank of sensory resources in your classroom e.g.
    •  Select or adapt materials addressing visual components:
                contrast / colour /  size / movement / least visual clutter
    •       Select or adapt materials addressing tactile/proprioceptive components:
               weight / texture / resistance / vibration / movement
    •      Select or adapt materials addressing auditory components:
               pitch / loudness / type / speed / how sound is activated.
