WHAT IF YOUR STUDENT HAS A CVI?

You can use tools such as the Happiness Audit and Student Information Sheet to  record what engages the student who has a CVI.  E.g.
  • What does the student like to look at?
  • Do they have favourite colour
  • When is the student most visually alert?
  • Do they look directly into faces?
  • Does the student notice things that move more than things that are stable?
  • Does the student look “through” rather than at objects? 
  • Does the student often look towards light e.g. overhead lights or light coming through a window or door?


Observe the student using their their vision  (Happiness Audit)...

  •  In different environments
  • At quiet and noisy times
  • When working with objects near and distant space
  • With familiar and unfamiliar objects
  • In cluttered and simple backgrounds
